If your car is still under warranty I wouldn't recommend not visiting mazda dealers...
What you could do (at least that's how it is here) is bring your own oil to the mazda service and have it changed by them
To be honest, you change your oil every 20.000km, so I dont think it means a really big expense in the overall maintenance expense of the car (in another words: dont be cheap with things that are important)
Anyway try to write to your mazda distributor and tell them about your problem. In zvonko's case they changed his entire "computer", and he says that the consumpiton droped

Mazda skrbi za svoj ugled. ( pa sem spet vesel da mam japonca, ko sem mislil da sem ?e skoraj tam ko kaka alfa z elektroniko)
