Michael Schumacher's manager has rekindled speculation about a Formula One comeback for the seven time world champion despite Ferrari Team Principal Stefano Domenicali ruling out a return this year.

 

The 40-year-old German had to watch the European Grand Prix from the pitwall due to his lingering injuries, while the Italian team confirmed that struggling Luca Badoer will also race at Spa Francorchamps this weekend. But Willi Weber told Cologne's Express newspaper that Schumacher is still in training, and may soon return to the seat of a F1 car.

 

"He still wants to drive motorcycles and karts," he said, "and for the recovery from his injuries it could be helpful for him to test again in the old F1 Ferrari. When? It has not been decided.”

 

Some reports claim that Schumacher will definitely not return to replace the injured Felipe Massa this year.

 

“I'm happy he is training, but what I can absolutely rule out is that Michael can return this year as a racing driver,” team boss Domenicali told the AFP news agency.

 

Schumacher himself however was non-committal before leaving Valencia late Sunday. "For the moment, I don't have any plans to start another attempt to come back," he told the Telegraph, but added: "I do not want to exclude the possibility that I come back one day. I'm still part of the Ferrari family. You never know what happens. For right now though I have to say: No.”

V nedeljo je bila res dolgo?asna dirka, mi je bilo ?al, da sem jo sploh gledal in nisem popodneva izkoristil za furo z motorjem. ?e ne bi bilo Badoerja, ki je vse skupaj popestril 2x z vrtenjem, kazensko vo?njo skozi bokse zaradi prevo?ene bele ?rte in Grosjeanovim prehitevanjem Badoerja ?ez boks, bi bilo pa ?e veliko bolj dolgo?asno.

 

Zanimiv konec dirke, ko bi se udarila Barrichello in Lewis, so zajebali McLarnovi mehaniki, ko je Lewis porabil 14 sekund za zadnji postanek, Rubens pa le okoli 9 sekund.

 

?e ena zanimivost - Grosjean je v svoji prvi dirki imel svoj najhitrej?i krog bolj?i od Alonsa. To Piquetu ni uspelo v 2 letih. Iz tega mulca ?e nekaj bo.

The Schumacher-Ferrari association likely to continue

 

Contrary to earlier reports, Michael Schumacher's contract with the Ferrari team was not recently extended.

 

It was believed that the 40-year-old had agreed to remain with the Maranello-based team as an advisor beyond the current season at the same time he decided to attempt a temporary Formula One return to replace the injured Felipe Massa.

 

But those contract talks have not yet happened, according to his manager Willi Weber, who told the newspaper Abendzeitung that they will probably commence behind the scenes at the Italian Grand Prix later this month.

 

"At the race in Monza something will happen," Weber said, referring to the negotiations about Schumacher's consultancy contract.

 

"It is clear that Ferrari have understood the importance that the Ferrari family has for Michael," he added.

 

Weber also said Schumacher is keen to test Ferrari's Formula One car at some point later this year, but that the Italian team knows the German's roles must fit with his desire to spend time with his family.

Ni formula je pa ?e vedno MotoGP, je v?eraj kdo gledal dirko, v dveh krogih sta prvi in drugi bila zadnji in predzadnji, potem pa se je rossi umaknil, kao te?ave z motorjem.

Luca Badoer looks set to be replaced for the forthcoming Italian Grand Prix after a dismal performance at the wheel of the injured Felipe Massa’s Ferrari in both Valencia and Spa Francorchamps. While the Italian team opted to reward Badoer for his long-standing service to the team with a race seat, it quickly become clear that the test veteran is not up to the task, with a number of drivers linked to the seat for Monza and beyond.

 

"Today, Luca did the best he could and this win also reflects his contribution within the team: now we will take a few days to evaluate his immediate future, also based on what Felipe’s recovery time might be," stated team boss Stefano Domenicali after Badoer finished 14th and last in Belgium. "Now we look to Monza, our home race, where we will do all in our power to continue down this road, even if we know it will be very difficult.

Badoer himself will be privately resigned to the fact that he will not be competing at Monza with the latest paddock speculation linking countryman Giancarlo Fisichella to the seat following his strong run to second place this afternoon with Force India. Badoer however is putting a brave face on the situation and claims he hopes to retain the drive.

"I have upped my performance level yet again," Badoer claimed after finishing 48 seconds behind 13th placed Kazuki Nakajiama. "I really want to race at Monza, one of the tracks I know best, along with Fiorano and Mugello."
